Introduction


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Engineering Project Manager, to join our client's team, a leading food manufacturer known for its commitment to quality and innovation. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of an industry leader, helping to drive engineering excellence across multiple facilities in the Edmonton area. As part of this team, you will play a critical role in overseeing key projects and initiatives that will enhance operational efficiency and ensure the continued growth of our client's business.


Responsibilities


  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.
  • Manage capital projects from concept through to commissioning, including budget preparation, cost tracking, and vendor negotiations.
  • Assess and prioritize project opportunities and oversee them from inception to completion.
  • Enhance plant efficiency through technological advancements and process optimization in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and services.
  • Represent the company in dealings with government authorities concerning permits and approvals.
  • Assist Plant Managers in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing facilities.


Requirements


  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering or technical experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing capital projects.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is required; experience in meat manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ammonia plant operations.
  • P.Eng. designation required or in progress.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between your home location and the Edmonton area facilities.
