Job Description

CEDA’s shop in Fort McMurray offers a first-class culture of professionals, great equipment and our mandate of doing the work right the first time is the pride we bring to the shop every day. The shift will be either a 7x7 or 14x14, 12 hr days based out of our truck shop at 180 MacLennan Cres, in Fort McMurray, AB. Travel will not be provided to Fort McMurray. The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Preventative maintenance on Hydrovacs, Wet Vacuum, Combo and Water trucks; High Pressure Water Blasting Equipment, Highway tractors and trailers (Peterbilt, Western Star, Kenworth).
  2. Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines & after treatment. (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, and John Deere).
  3. Hydraulic & PTO diagnostic and repair.
  4. Clutches, transmissions & differentials.
  5. Vacuum pump & blower repair.
  6. Burner diagnostic & repair.
  7. Commercial Vehicle Inspections.
  8. Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts.
  9. Interpret work orders.
  10. Work alongside apprentices and delegate work.
  11. Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations.
Role Specifications
  1. Must be a registered (On-Road) Apprentice.
  2. Valid Class 5 license with air brakes (no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required).
  3. Valid Class 1 or 3 license would be an asset.
  4. Weight handling of up to 50 lbs.
  5. Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset.
  6. Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  7. Able to provide your own tools.
Skills
  1. You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely.
  2. You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs.
  3. Your knowledge of Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for success.
  4. Computers are your friend, not your enemy.
