Speedy Transport Group is looking for an operations Manager to join their Quebec City team.

The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations of a high-performance transport company and to lead the workforce to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost goals. This will be accomplished by taking a “hands on” approach to everyday operations and staff issues.


Position Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the dock is adequately staffed and that personnel are properly trained to carry out (work in a safe and competent manner)
  • Work with the employees to ensure a safe work environment consistent with relevant legislation (including company policies)
  • Ensure that the dock is efficiently scheduled to meet customer requirements and that customer issues are resolved in an effective and timely manner.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, budget targets and contribute to the growth of the company in a pro-active manner.
  • Oversee all routine and preventative maintenance and schedule any major repairs in accordance with production requirements
  • Manage the overall LTL Transport logistics of the company’s shipping and receiving
  • Manage Shift Operations Supervisors
  • Work closely with customer service to provide the best possible service for our customers

Position Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in LTL Transport
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to achieve operational goals
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle several complex tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform shift work and available for flexible hours
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and problem analysis, decision making and resolution
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to listen and provide effective and timely feedback
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and perform tasks related to the department or units’ regulations, policies, rules, functions, procedures, or processes
  • Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
