Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering & Procurement, the Technical Writer involves the development and maintenance of product support materials, such as Operators Manuals, Parts Manuals, Service Manuals, Service Bulletins, Marketing Material, etc. The responsibilities will include the following, but will not be limited to:

  • Researching product information to use in development of product support material
  • Organizing and laying out gathered information to be formatted into a manual or bulletin
  • Maintaining accurate revisions of all publications material.
  • Technical writing involving operator and service manual information
  • 3D modeling of vendor components in SolidWorks
  • Designing and producing decals
  • Maintaining and upgrading info for company website
  • Photography; acquire photos required for manuals/bulletins.
  • Scanning and retouching photo images.
  • Filling parts orders by completing jobs in ERP system
  • Website maintenance
  • Maintaining computer; problem solving, software upgrades, file management.
  • Maintaining Publications Library and updating as required.
  • Creating and maintaining departmental forms and templates.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering
  • Must be proficient with Solidworks Composer
  • Must be proficient wth MS Office, CorelDraw & the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Previous experience in a Technical Writer position is ideal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Mechanical apptitude
