Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to lead our EOL projects. This role involves migrating datacenter and remote partner devices from legacy Cisco equipment to new Cisco platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco hardware platforms including configuration, management and troubleshooting Cisco network devices. The candidate will also have advanced level of and routing and switching knowledge and hands on experience on Cisco ASA, FortiGate, and Palo Alto firewalls, and will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the EOL projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design and Implementation
  • Design, deploy and configure Cisco network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring and managing Cisco Catalyst, Nexus and Meraki platforms.
  • Prepare detailed migration plan for EOL devices to new hardware for datacenter devices and remote partner connections.
  • Analyze traffic flows to perform impact analysis of changes and provide recommendations on migration plans.
  • Analyze configuration changes required for migration to from legacy Cisco hardware to new ones.
  • Develop cutover plans and detailed MOPs for implementation activities.

  • Migration Execution
  • Configure new hardware, execute configuration changes and make necessary firewall rule changes in Cisco ASA, Fortigate and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Ensure minimal downtime and disruption to network services during migrations.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of network configurations post-migration.

Technical Expertise

  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting during and after migration activities.
  • Optimize configurations for performance, security, and compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Advanced proficiency with Cisco platforms and Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including PAN-OS configuration and management.
  • Knowledgeable in utilizing Panorama for centralized management and log analysis.
  • Familiar with WildFire for advanced threat detection and prevention.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc.), routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and switching.
  • In depth knowledge of Cisco hardware platforms and capabilities.
  • Proficiency in configurating, managing and troubleshooting Cisco network devices.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing.
  • Experience with high-availability configurations and disaster recovery planning.

Documentation and Training

  • Document migration processes, configurations, and procedures.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to Network Operations staff.
