Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our Treasury team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a finance and treasury professional to grow and demonstrate expertise within a supportive and diverse environment. As an Analyst in Treasury, you will support various functions in banking operations, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective cash management, liquidity risk management, and asset-liability management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day cash management and operational activities of the Treasury team.
  • Provide management-level reporting and key analytical insights into balance sheet trends, including evaluation of:
  • Liquid investments portfolio
  • Lending portfolios (mortgages, non-mortgage loans)
  • Non-maturity deposits and term deposits (retail, wholesale, securitization)
  • Capital structure
  • Monitor and assess the impact of internal and external events, such as product pricing, product changes, economic data releases, and regulatory changes, on the Bank's portfolio growth and funding channels.
  • Analyze daily pricing information for retail and wholesale loan and deposit products to assess interest rate return and evaluate bank pricing/profitability.
  • Drive operational efficiencies through automation using key technologies (Excel, VBA, Power Query, SQL).
  • Ensure compliance with new regulations and maintain awareness of industry developments and relevant regulatory initiatives.
  • Form strategies and recommend actions to take regarding Treasury funding options, based on market conditions.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives that will expand the Bank's product and service offerings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a similar role, or a recent graduate with a strong academic background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a quantitative discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A flexible mindset and ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • CFA designation or progress toward obtaining a CFA designation.
  • Prior experience in Treasury and/or Finance within the banking industry.
  • Proficiency in data analytics using advanced Excel features and programming/coding skills (e.g., SQL, SAS, Power Apps, Python, Business Objects).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work in various group settings.
  • A proactive mindset, with a willingness to ask questions and explore areas for improvement.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a quantitative discipline.
