The VP, Capital Markets is responsible for identifying and establishing contact with potential clients in their assigned territory as well as educating current Advisors on the Walton product(s). This position’s main duties include traveling to assigned territories, (across Canada and Latin America) when possible, to meet with potential and current Advisors and/or clients and pitching the Walton platform to current or potential Advisors and maintaining those relationships.


Responsibilities include:


Sales

  • Develop and execute business plans and sales strategies to achieve sales goals
  • Build a client base through prospecting and business development
  • Conduct sales calls and sales presentations to current and prospective clients primarily permitted and Accredited Investors
  • Conduct presentations to Family Offices, Portfolio Managers, Institutions and distribution partners
  • Provide support and service to an existing client base and maximize client satisfaction
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Walton products
  • Efficient use of Walton sales collateral, marketing materials and other resources


Service

  • Monitor products, project updates, exit updates and financial statements
  • Maintain and manage relationship with distribution partners
  • Assist with client inquiries and paperwork


Compliance

  • Will be required to hold your registration as an Exempt Market Dealing Representative.
  • Represent Walton investments in a professional and compliant manner
  • Comply with securities legislation and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate documentation
  • Complete and submit appropriate expenses based on company guidelines and timelines
  • Use available tools, technology and systems to work efficiently


Professional Development

  • Maintain and continuously develop knowledge of sales, products and compliance/regulatory matters
  • Participate in Professional Development sessions and complete any associated online/independent study requirements


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong business and or sales networks in institutional, portfolio Management or Family Office markets
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting sales objectives and goals
  • Advanced level of relationship management and interpersonal skills and the ability to strategically and ethically leverage client relationships
  • Possess and maintain strong market knowledge to provide comprehensive service to clients, develop new solutions, and construct compelling recommendations
  • Professional, strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and performance driven
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Current Canadian Securities Course or Exempt Market Product Course (required), can be obtained during first month
  • Registration with an Exempt Market Dealer
  • In-depth knowledge of sales techniques and account management
  • Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to produce results with minimum supervision, in a fast paced environment
  • Proven track record in meeting sales targets and achieving sales goals
  • Adherence to compliance and company policies and procedures in previous positions
