The Opportunity


Altrad is currently in search of experienced Deputy Project Manager, specializing in LNG to become a vital part of our team at a prominent Construction Project situated in Kitimat, BC. This role entails a 14:7 roster (or 20:8 roster – depending on the point of hire), working 10 hours per day. Flights and accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates on a Full-Time/Fixed-Term Contract basis.


As the Deputy Project Manager, you will support the Project Manager and act as their cross-shift in the effective delivery and management of the project. You bring your experience in project coordination and management to ensure that the project is managed efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for coordinating with key stakeholders, tracking progress, and ensuring that tasks and deadlines are met. You will support the Project Manager in building and maintaining relationships, developing plans, strategies, and processes to meet the project's objectives. We are looking for someone with a strategic mind, a keen eye for detail, and someone who takes a hands-on approach to leadership.


  • Be committed to the Safer Together approach promoted on the Project Site, by delivering and exceeding the HSE expectations at site and promoting related initiatives
  • Review work plans and risk assessments
  • Attend pre-starts and other HSE meetings and conduct regular safety interactions to ensure all work is executed safely in line with Altrad Services, Company, and Owner expectations
  • Accountable for coordinating the Workface Planning (WFP) process for AGJV
  • Work closely with the Planning team and the Construction superintendents to understand project and Contract Schedule requirements
  • Develop and sequence IWPs and identify constraints, develop daily and weekly production targets
  • Review the weekly IWP status reporting to ensure adherence to Company requirements and investigate any discrepancies
  • Facilitate IWP Constraint Review sessions and coordinate & prioritize partial and full IWP releases from Company to AGJV while facilitating the release process between AGJV disciplines
  • Responsible for coordinating all interfaces between the Company and other contractors to achieve the highest levels of safety and productivity at site
  • Review and communicate across the Company and its sub-contractors all access requirements to ensure access availability and suitability as to not delay planned activities
  • Update Company and Company and its sub-contractors when access is no longer required to minimize scaffold utilization at site
  • Work with all disciplines to define plant, equipment, material, and consumable requirements in adherence with the Project Equipment Standardization Plan
  • Coordinate with the material controls team to ensure that these requirements are fulfilled on time and review actual consumption rates to ensure that they match the planned consumption and investigate discrepancies
  • Ensure that all materials management is done in line with Company’s materials management expectations
  • Ensure the accuracy of the daily and weekly reports from the construction teams to enable accurate reporting and associated decision-making
  • Work with the construction superintendents to understand the manning requirements at site and communicate to the recruitment teams
  • Lead the review of rosters to ensure the availability of manpower at site
  • Ensure that the site teams follow the required technical specifications and facilitate the Technical Query (TQ) process when required
  • Ensure that the information flow from the construction team to the quality control team is accurate and timely
  • Responsible for developing strong customer intimacy and promote effective teamwork among the Company, Owner, and other Contractors at site
  • Must attend the weekly Progress Meetings and any other meetings as required


Who do we want to hear from?


  • Minimum 10 years of Construction project management experience on large scale LNG and/or other oil & gas projects
  • Completion of post-secondary studies in a related field
  • PMP designation considered an asset
  • Strong leadership skills and experience
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • High degree of financial literacy
  • Ability to travel and work on-site
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work Visa
