Manager, Project Management Services

Our client has an immediate opening for a motivated and detail-oriented Manager, Project Management Services to join their team in Vancouver.
In your new role as a Manager, Project Management Services, you will interact with internal and external client groups, including business stakeholders, management, IT specialists and vendors and will require you to have solid leadership experience and the ability to implement change initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the IT Business Services team;
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the Project Management & Business Analysis function to deliver and support solutions for the various business groups;
- Coordinate and support the resource planning process to optimize resource utilization and project execution;
- Provide strategic leadership for the development of projects and initiatives that impact the company;
- Oversee the development of effective project management to aid in project delivery, process standardization and project monitoring, including templates and reports.
- Review and contribute to documents produced by the project team: detailed business requirements, test plans, test scripts, system documentation (including operations manuals, service level agreements, and team knowledge bases)
- Provide feedback and guidance to project team members;
- Manage and lead projects of varying complexity and duration including complex projects requiring large amounts of effort (600-1,000+ hours) and over extended duration (6+ months or more);
As an ideal candidate, you have the following qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including 2-3 years of people management experience;
- Post-secondary education and/or courses relating to the financial business sector;
- PMP certification is an asset;
- Knowledge of the Wealth Management/Capital Markets/Brokerage industry is a key must have asset;
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies;
- Experience working in Agile environment:
- Background in Software Development or Business Analysis delivering software development projects;
- Excellent organizational, communication and facilitation skills with the ability to grasp abstract concepts;
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement successful solutions;
- Creative thinker with the ability to implement real solutions;
- Strong organization, communication and prioritization skills.
