Job Description:

The High Net Worth Planner is responsible for working with TD advisors to deliver high value customized guidance on tax, retirement, estate and overall wealth planning to HNW and UHNW clients of TD.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  1. Demonstrate our commitment to being a client-centric organization that puts clients first by ensuring a legendary Client Planning Experience is provided during every client interaction to maximize retention and growth.
  2. Provide professional retirement, tax and estate planning support and solutions to qualifying clients of TD Wealth. Prepare customized wealth plans independently on a timely basis based on information obtained directly from relationship managers/advisors.
  3. Carry out independent research to ensure all of a client's key issues (retirement, tax, estate planning) are addressed and keep abreast of relevant wealth planning (retirement, tax, estate planning) developments.
  4. Participate in client meetings and delivery of client educational seminars as needed.

SHAREHOLDER

  1. Plan, recommend and implement a strategy to deliver industry leading HNW planning solutions to support the growth PWM.
  2. Deliver HNW Planning solutions in a manner that is compliant with regulations, policies and procedures.
  3. Proactively spot, anchor, introduce and follow up on opportunities for complimentary businesses and solutions.
  4. Execute on TD Wealth's high net worth strategy.
  5. Assist advisors and relationship managers with business development, opportunity spotting, and revenue generation.
  6. Ensure documentation that is completed is accurate and properly reflects the client's intentions and is consistent with relevant regulations.
  7. Ensure appropriate service levels are provided to maximize role profitability, minimize costs and manage business to avoid financial losses and reputational damage to TDBG.
  8. Diligently track and report on a regular basis, the outcome of wealth plans delivered and new business generated.
  9. Develop and implement sales strategies to proactively attract, acquire and retain clients, sales opportunities and referrals, to increase profitability and enable business growth.
  10. Promote and offer full suite of tax and estate products, sales, services and banking capabilities.
  11. Protect the interests of the TD Bank – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary.
  12. Identify, suggest and actively participate in process improvement opportunities.
  13. Actively manage relationships within and across businesses and ensure alignment with TD Bank and regulatory requirements.
  14. Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
  15. Support our corporate responsibility and citizenship objectives through community and charity involvement.

  9. Act as a brand ambassador for WAS and the bank, both internally and/or externally.

BREADTH & DEPTH

  1. Recognized as an expert in tax and overall wealth planning.
  2. Serve as a source of expert advice to senior management in field of specialty; may lead team(s) of related specialists/experts.
  3. Work within general policies and industry guidelines.
  4. Engages stakeholders to take action; serves as a source of expert advice, influences change; frames information in a broader organizational context.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. Advanced professional degree (CA or LL.B/JD).
  3. Certified financial planning designation an asset (CFP, Pl. Fin, etc.).
  4. Tax knowledge and expertise on holistic financial planning.
  5. Completion of the In-depth Tax course, levels 1 & 2 or Masters of Tax is a strong asset and/or.
  6. Minimum 10 years of practical experience.
