Global Business Banking Risk Technology provides the project, change, & development management and services of non-retail enterprise risk systems to support the Global Risk Management (GRM) business lines.


The Role

GBBRT is searching for Senior Software Engineers who are continuous learners and are eager to boost capabilities of business banking products.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical and engineering mindset. You will work closely with business teams and cross functional engineering leaders to develop and implement market leading solutions for the various projects within GBBRT.

In partnership with peer engineers, business partners, and the various GBME teams, you will:

  1. Work closely with end users, and business teams to understand business needs, conduct gap analysis and requirements assessments as needed
  2. Partner with Architecture on the design and integration
  3. Deliver and enhance new and current solutions and applications
  4. Be involved in the full life cycle of a project, responsible for producing actionable and complete specifications, writing production quality code, and implementation
  5. Design, deliver and implement a database schema
  6. Design test sets and automate where possible, including functional and non functional testing, regression testing as well as performance testing
  7. Write deployment scripts and leverage tools such as the Accelerator pipeline to promote code
  8. Support the solution in production
  9. Improve the end user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad hoc queries
  10. Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  11. Able to work with and refactor legacy code (as needed)
  12. Coach and train end users (as needed)
  13. Participate and run SCRUM Meetings (as needed)

You are passionate about developing applications that are reusable, efficient, and scalable, working in an innovated cross functional team environment.


Technical Qualifications
  1. Experience with 2 or more modern development languages (C#, Python, Java, etc.)
  2. 4+ years’ experience developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale applications with complex integration
  3. Recent experience with relational and non relational databases
  4. 2 + years’ experience reading, writing, and running SQL scripts
  5. Experience working in an Agile environment, with experience and understanding of Test-Driven Development methodology
  6. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant experience

  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  2. Work as a contributing member of a team
  3. Values quality, while still managing expectations and deliverables
  4. Open to ideas and gives and receives feedback well
  5. Wants to understand financial market

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with some automated deployment
