Join our dynamic team as a Product Owner III In this role you’ll be championing the implementation of innovative product management practices, maintaining standards and best practices. Collaborating with teams to build and mature product management, product ownership functions, and providing guidance and mentorship to team members.

We are ideally seeking a candidate located in Calgary.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Developing and implementing product ownership, product management standards and best practices, ensuring consistency across all teams.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to define and evolve product strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather, clarify, and prioritize product requirements.
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure technical feasibility and optimize the use of engineering resources.
  • Tracking and analyzing product performance metrics, using data to drive continuous improvement and inform decision-making.
  • Providing support and guidance to enhance team members' skills and performance, helping them grow into their roles.
  • Prioritizing, refining, and grooming the product backlog to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Facilitating grooming sessions with the development team, ensuring clarity on user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Representing user and stakeholder needs during sprint reviews and planning sessions.
  • Collaborating with the QA team to ensure released features are of high quality and meet user needs.
  • Conducting market research to understand user needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.

As The Successful Candidate You Have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field is required. Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
  • Experience working in an API-first environment.
  • Basic technical knowledge to communicate effectively with development teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical and business requirements.
  • Data-driven decision making with a focus on results.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Scrum Product Owner Certification is preferred.
