This position will lead and support the execution of procurement strategies by analyzing spend data and understanding internal business needs. The candidate will be responsible for procurement analysis, reporting, and presentations, as well as participating in the overall management of supplier relationships.

These responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, supporting the bid process, analyzing financial models, and providing general support to the procurement team. Additionally, the role involves identifying cost-saving opportunities, developing supplier relationships, and ensuring alignment with stakeholders. Finally, the role includes administrative duties such as tracking cost savings initiatives and providing monthly status reports.

Strategic Sourcing
  • Lead and support the development of sourcing strategies through detailed analysis of historical and current spend data, combined with sourcing and researching new suppliers.
  • Support the bid process by consulting with users to determine expectations, preparing RFP documents, performing bid analysis, leading or participating in negotiations, and preparing and presenting vendor recommendations and bid results.
  • Analyze financial models and perform competitive analyses, constructing business cases.
  • Provide general support to the procurement team by preparing content and presenting reports, analyses, and presentations.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving negotiation initiatives.
  • Develop supplier relationships to optimize quality and performance, focusing on continuous improvement, innovation, and total cost of ownership reduction to add value.
  • Build relationships with major stakeholders to ensure alignment on cost-saving activities and streamlining initiatives, driving compliance.
  • Perform administrative duties such as tracking cost-saving initiatives and providing monthly status reports against objective targets.
P2P Process Improvement
  • Identify and develop productivity projects to enhance operational processes.
  • Assist procurement team in advancing and completing P2P process improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Actively participate as a cross-functional team member, collaborating with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, Sales and Marketing, IT, and other key business areas to optimize processes. This includes sourcing, P2P, and sharing process improvement ideas from vendors.
Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
  • University degree or college diploma in a related discipline.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in operations and/or corporate procurement, preferably in agriculture or CPG manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP, MRP, Power BI, and other reporting tools.
  • Experience in P2P (Procure to Pay) roles and transactional purchasing is an asset.
  • Experience in packaging categories is an asset.
  • High level of initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business, strategic, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong planning, project management, leadership, and execution skills.
  • Rigorous data-driven and analytical capability with the ability to present data to leadership.
  • Comfort presenting in front of small to medium-sized groups and leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and motivate others.
  • Adaptability in a changing work environment.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data.
  • Desire and ability to manage processes.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
