We’re Hiring: Industry Based Learning, Network Development / Training Assistant

At Daimler Truck Australia Pacific, we support Industry Based Learning year after year and continue to develop our program and students who participate. Our company is positioned as a global leader in the manufacturing of high-quality commercial vehicles with three high-profile brands - Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Fuso Truck and Bus, and Freightliner. This 2025 IBL program, based in our Aftersales division, focuses on our Network Development and Training Academy team and commences mid-January 2025. You will need to commit to full-time office hours until the end of January 2026. To qualify for this program, you must be an undergraduate student currently completing your penultimate year of study. As at January 2025, you must have a remaining 12 months or 2 semesters of study to complete your degree. Ideally, you are studying a Business Management or similar degree.

Based at our corporate Head Office in Mulgrave, we strive to offer fantastic on-the-job work experience combined with professional development opportunities. We will provide you with ongoing online and in-person learning opportunities, addressing business etiquette, systems, and networking training to support the development of your technical and soft skills early in your career.

The role:

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative university student to join the team as an IBL Network Development / Training Academy Assistant. Our 2025 IBL Program will expose you to real jobs, real experiences, and real learning which will allow you to gain valuable workplace experience relevant to your chosen field of study. This 12-month opportunity, starting in 2025, is to learn and work alongside our experienced team of professionals across our Network Development and Training Academy teams.

Within this Network Development / Training Academy Assistant role, you will have an opportunity to support our dealers and assist in coordinating the Daimler Truck Training Academy and the Network Development team. Your role will include working with dealer requests, being a key contact for the Daimler Truck New Hire Induction Program, maintaining databases, and providing support to the Dealer Network. You will also contribute to Daimler Truck training days, coordinating sessions, liaising with external providers, and assisting with dealer outreach activities.

Some key responsibilities include:

  1. Assist with dealer requests for Network Development and Training areas of responsibility.
  2. Assist with course schedules, trainer requests, network requests, and day-to-day course management.
  3. Support our Dealer Administrators as they manage dealer staff changes and access requests.
  4. Support our Dealer Learning Coordinators as they manage learning and development pathways for their dealer teams.
  5. Coordinate the logistics involved in delivering training, including catering companies.
  6. Act as one of the key contacts between Daimler Truck internal and dealer participants in the new hire induction process.
  7. Provide support to the team in generating reports.
