About the Opportunity:

The Quality and Process Improvement Specialist will lead the organization's Quality Improvement Plan and ensure alignment with strategic priorities, accreditation standards, and best practices. This role champions a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating process optimization, data-driven decision-making, and patient/client-centred approaches.

The Specialist provides expertise in change management, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and quality assurance to improve service delivery, enhance program outcomes, and maintain accreditation readiness. They will be responsible for Accreditation, including organizational oversight of policies, procedures, and routine reporting. Additional areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the management of operational privacy incidents, identifying trends and implementing improvements to minimize breaches.
  • Leverage Power BI for data visualization and analysis, enhancing quality reporting and key performance indicators.
  • Serve as an AI Champion, bridging technology with clinical teams by identifying opportunities where AI can improve quality, efficiency, and client outcomes.
  • Coordinating system-wide quality initiatives aligned with annual priorities, facilitating needs assessments, root cause analyses, and process mapping.
  • Conducting workflow analyses, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve care outcomes, then implementing best practices for standardization.
  • Delivering training sessions on Lean principles, root cause analysis, patient safety, and data literacy, empowering staff to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
  • Overseeing data audits, identifying barriers to robust data management, and linking insights to strategic goals while offering rationales and recommendations for improvement.

More About You:

To qualify, applicants should have a Master's-level education or must have the equivalent combination of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Improvement, Engineering, or a related field, in addition to:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in social/health services, healthcare quality, or process improvement roles.
  • Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or other process improvement frameworks, and demonstrated expertise with PDSA cycles, process mapping, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in data analytics, including Power BI, Excel (advanced functions), and visualization tools.
  • Hands-on involvement in accreditation processes (QMentum/QGlobal), along with knowledge of healthcare legislation such as PHIPA and the Excellent Care for All Act.
  • Practical experience in data management, advanced analytics (SPSS, SAS), survey development, and evaluation, including statistical analysis and clinical documentation interpretation.
  • Awareness and knowledge of AI and digital transformation in a clinical environment.
  • A proven track record of leading interdisciplinary teams to implement quality initiatives, supported by excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project), data visualization platforms, data processing, management and analysis software, and incident reporting systems (e.g., RL Datix).
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and well-developed interpersonal skills for engaging diverse groups along with strong analytical, detail-oriented and organization skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities, meet strict deadlines and have excellent follow-up.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, following established safety and infection control practices, and demonstrating adaptability in a changing environment.
  • Confidence in navigating challenging situations, effectively problem-solving and strong communication skills with experience presenting data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences and building positive professional relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage.
