We’re looking for a Director of Hardware Strategy to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships, the Director of Hardware Strategy will own the development and execution - in collaboration with colleagues across Lightspeed - of our global hardware strategy at Lightspeed across our point of sale platforms.This role will work across a variety of teams to develop and execute on a long term hardware strategy that enables Lightspeed to continue to transform the retail and hospitality industries with innovative point of sale and payments technology.

Reporting lines:

As the Director of Hardware Strategy, you will report directly to the VP of Partnerships. You will lead a team focused on the following areas:

  • Hardware Product Management
  • Hardware Partner Management & Procurement
  • Hardware Forecasting & Purchasing
  • Hardware Fulfillment

Reporting lines and direct reports may change from time to time with the requirements of the role.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Create a short and long term plan to deliver hardware reliability, innovation, and value across our key point of sale product offerings
  • Collaborate to insure product teams have the right technology to deliver their roadmaps
  • Build and maintain hardware partnerships with the industry leaders in the point of sale and payments technology space
  • Manage our network of suppliers, distributors, and reverse logistics partners to drive operational efficiencies and improve the customer experience
  • Own the P&L for hardware globally; delivering on price negotiations with vendors, pricing strategy, and influence our discount and promotional offers
  • Lead the hardware procurement and purchasing team and process for purchases globally; delivering margin improvement and supply chain reliability
  • Own our internal hardware fulfillment teams and warehousing operations globally
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key innovators and industry leaders in the hardware space that influence our products direction like Apple, Google, Adyen, and Stripe
  • Identity trends and competitive landscape developments at the intersection of hardware, payments, and point of sale
  • Build and maintain a world-class, inclusive, diverse, high-performing team by driving effective onboarding, on-going training, retention with a strong remote culture

What you will be bringing to the team:

  • 10 years in point of sale or payments hardware product or operations management
  • Proven results managing teams and external partners to deliver results
  • Experience in a global SaaS environment, preference for fast-growth and global
  • Track record of being able to both set or shape strategy, as well as delivering executional plans that have measurable impact on the business.
  • Experience engaging at an executive level both internally with cross-functional groups and externally with partners
  • Proven record of leading a diverse, high performing team across geographical regions and experience building high-performing, inclusive teams
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accountability, while also able to collaborate cross-functionally with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fluid, fast-paced, unpredictable environment
  • Unquestionable ethics, integrity and business judgment; you share our values, and work in accordance with those values
  • Highly motivated and adaptable with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a challenging, fast paced and team-oriented environment
