Seeking applications for 2 Mature Camp Cook Assistants

Job Description:

Assisting Camp Cook with all daily meals and snacks for each day for the youth and camp workers/instructors. This is a one-week program that ensures all camp participants receive wholesome nutritious meals while at camp.

Duties:

• Responsible and prompt for early work hours
• Receive verbal instructions from Lead Cook as to food preparation and cooking instructions
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations to maintain all cooking, food prep surfaces and equipment areas as to health and safety standards
• Prep healthy snacks for youth and camp instructors and guests
• Verify that prepared foods meet requirements for quality and quantity
• Assist in preparation of food for cooking and distribution
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment – Outdoor grill, BBQ and deep fryer
• Dishes after every meal
• Work around youth and adults as well as members of authority with respect

Qualifications:

• Food handler’s certificate an asset
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Culinary experience in cooking for large groups would be an asset
• Help with occasional shopping of food supplies
• Experience in working with youth
• Willingness to work full days 7 am to 7 pm with breaks for the week
