Crafty Apes is searching for a dynamic human resources professional to spearhead our talent acquisition efforts, oversee HR administration, develop a holistic system with the company's culture, and put people first. In this pivotal global role, you will act as the liaison between employees and the business, ensuring adherence to company policies and acting in the best interest of the entire organization across the US, Canada, and the UK. Our ideal candidate can think strategically, put systems in place, as well as get hands-on when required. General responsibilities include steering the fundamental functions of recruiting and Human Resources, including payroll processing, compliance and policy, benefits program administration, performance management, employee relations, and employee training programs. You'll be instrumental in fostering an environment conducive to growth as our company expands its footprint and personnel. You will be working across the organization with the rest of the executive management team. You must be able to provide solid advice and guidance on all matters related to people management. Successful candidates must be hands-on and able to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall Responsibilities & Employee Relations

· Lead efforts to reinforce and evolve the company's culture and values.

· Foster open communication and a culture of transparency and collaboration.

· Collaborate with executive leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.

· Build strong partnerships with hiring managers to support their people management needs and strategic goals.

· Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance HR processes and decision-making.

· Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a supportive and inclusive work environment.

· Drive initiatives that promote employee well-being, happiness, and engagement.

· Navigate complexities related to international operations, remote work, and cross-border employment.

Strategic System Development:

· Identify opportunities for innovation in HR practices and systems to support a technology-enabled creative services business.

· Develop a holistic incentive system that aligns with the business's needs and reflects its core values.

· Design and implement performance evaluation processes that consider individual contributions and team collaboration, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

· Create incentive structures that reward creativity, problem-solving, technological proficiency, and alignment with company values.

· Implement recognition programs that celebrate achievements and promote a positive work culture.

Training & Development

· Develop and enhance training models and methodologies tailored to our technology-driven creative services.

· Explore innovative approaches to educate and upskill our teams, collaborating with key stakeholders.

· Identify and address areas for improvement in our training programs.

Talent Acquisition & Resource Management

  • Lead global talent acquisition efforts, ensuring a consistent and practical approach to recruiting top talent across different regions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract top talent across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job requisition to candidate onboarding, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions that accurately reflect position requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruiting agencies, vendors, and internal recruiting staff to support recruiting initiatives as needed.
  • Analyze hiring trends and retention challenges, implementing proactive strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry hiring practices and competitors' strategies.
  • Adapt staffing strategies to industry dynamics and technological advancements.
  • Facilitate employee mobility and international assignments, including relocation support and compliance with immigration and employment laws.


Legal Compliance & Risk Management

· Ensure HR policies and practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.

· Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and confidential manner, striving to find fair and equitable resolutions.

· Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field

· 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on recruiting, HR administration, and employee relations

· 3-5 years of experience at entrepreneurial companies (knowledge of the entertainment industry a plus)

· Able to balance both a people-focused and results-driven approach

· In-depth understanding of HR operations and analytics

· High level of confidentiality with sensitive information

· Experience working with HR systems and databases (experience with Dayforce a plus)

· Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and HR best practices, including experience with multi-site/multi-state companies

· Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills

· Experience managing compensation and benefits programs

· Experience with effective conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and investigations
