AGT Soileos is on a mission to support the transition to sustainability in agriculture with Soileos, a novel micronutrient biofertilizer that increases crop yields, improves soil health, is non-polluting and climate positive. For our North American sales team, we are looking for a Sales Director who can accelerate our growth, work with our retailer partners and growers, and lead a small team of sales reps.

Candidates should be based in the Canadian Prairies or in the Midwestern United States.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Sales Director will identify and integrate new business opportunities in the US and Canada while leading a team of regional sales agronomists. This role will develop new and maintain existing distributor and retail partnerships, lead the team and achieve sales targets for the current and expanding portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.
- Identifying growth opportunities, market trends, and emerging sales channels to drive business expansion.
- Setting sales targets, quotas, and KPIs in alignment with overall business goals.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the sales team to maximize their performance and professional development.
- Conducting performance evaluations, setting performance goals, and implementing incentive programs to motivate and reward high achievers.
- Leading negotiations for major accounts, contracts, and partnership agreements to drive revenue growth and enhance client satisfaction.
- Analyzing market data, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to develop effective sales strategies and tactics.
- Identifying and prioritizing target market segments, industries, and geographic regions for sales expansion and penetration.
- Collaborating with marketing, product development, and other cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with product offerings and market positioning.
- Conducting regular sales reviews and performance analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for optimization.
- Developing and managing sales budgets, expense forecasts, and resource allocation plans to optimize cost-effectiveness and ROI.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing, finance, operations, and customer service, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution.
- Serving as a liaison between the sales team and senior management to communicate sales insights, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications

- You have a Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field.
- You have at least five (8) years’ experience in sales leadership roles; focus in Agribusiness preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing team members across large territories.
- Strong knowledge of the agricultural industry and farming practices throughout Canada and the US.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- You show initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- You can successfully juggle multiple tasks and have outstanding time management skills
- You are accountable, reliable, punctual, and resilient, with an unwavering work ethic
- You understand the value of collaboration with cross-functional teams to solve problems and achieve a common goal.
