Roteq Machinery Inc. is an engineer-to-order company specializing in conceiving, designing, and manufacturing of rotating equipment for the wire and cable, umbilical, flexible pipe, and hose manufacturing industries. Our projects are customized for our diverse customers resulting in a machine designed and manufactured specifically for the application. Roteq Machinery’s projects span the full range of rotating equipment including armouring, stranding, cabling, taping, and includes auxiliary equipment for complete production lines.


Here’s what you will do as Sales Engineer:

The Sales Engineer is accountable for generating sales and revenue growth (CAN/US) by developing wire & cable solutions for customers through the promotion of Roteq products. With their technical expertise, the Sales Engineer will deliver technical sales support to uncover the customer’s business objectives and technical requirements to translate these requirements into an effective Roteq solution.


  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s machinery products and their applications to deliver business solutions to clients;
  • Identify and engage potential clients, understanding their specific machinery needs and challenges; generate net new profitable revenue;
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and technical explanations of machinery functionality and benefits.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored machinery solutions, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Prepare detailed sales proposals, including technical specifications, cost estimates, order intake, payment and timelines.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients during and after the sales process; respond to customer requests and queries on sales process and product;
  • Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met;
  • Attend customer visits, trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events to showcase products and build networks;
  • Support and initiate continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of Roteq.


Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related field) with P. Eng. designation or eligibility;
  • 8+ years industrial experience as an Operator, Maintenance, Manufacturing/Production Engineer, Plant Manager and technical sales;
  • Technically minded, with a broad knowledge of machinery and mechanical parts; hands-on experience in operating, installing, or troubleshooting machinery is highly preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite;
  • Self-motivated and driven to seek out new sales opportunities; strong desire to provide excellent customer service and support;
  • Results oriented with the ability to open doors at the executive level, and develop strategic plans and solutions to address complex customer needs;
  • Ability to propel and maintain cross functional resources and relationships to deliver customized and valuable solutions for the customer;
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as cross-functional teams;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to travel primarily within North America (20%) to customers and suppliers. Valid class G driving license with clean record. Ability to travel internationally.
