Cybersecurity Product Engineer
Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Product Engineer will provide subject matter expertise in key technology areas, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB/Cloud DLP), Enterprise Encryption, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), among others. The role involves staying updated on the latest developments in cybersecurity and providing strategic advice to align product capabilities with business goals. The Cybersecurity Product Engineer will support IT and OT environments and fulfill a range of responsibilities as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Knowledge and Expertise:
- Complement the Enterprise Solutions Engineering team.
- Conduct market research and provide strategic recommendations on product roadmaps.
- Stay informed about the latest developments, updates, and trends related to cybersecurity products and systems.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the product’s features, benefits, and applications, particularly in transit and relevant sectors.
- Provide expert advice and support to customers on emerging security technologies.
- Offer insights on legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly in Ontario and Canadian law, if applicable.
Advisory Services:
- Assist in evaluating product requirements based on client and market needs.
- Offer recommendations to enhance product capabilities within the firm's ecosystem.
- Provide strategic insights on competitive advantages and areas for differentiation.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the strategic planning of product development with a focus on security and compliance.
- Collaborate with management to align product capabilities with overall business goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of product specifications, updates, and customer interactions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on product performance, customer feedback, and market trends.
Customer and Client Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the IT and cybersecurity teams.
- Participate in client meetings to provide expert insights and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the cybersecurity field, with expertise in DLP, CASB, Enterprise Encryption, GRC, and related areas.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario and Canadian laws, with a focus on emerging legislation relevant to IT and OT environments.
- Experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive product knowledge, particularly in the transit or relevant industries.
- Ability to conduct market research and translate findings into actionable product strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide expert advice to customers and internal teams.
Travel Requirements:
- Max. of up to 50% travel to meet and collaborate with the client team stakeholders.
