About This Job

The Senior Process Engineer role involves significant responsibility, decision-making, and leadership including mentoring of others and contributing to strategic planning. This position requires the provision of technical support to the Operations Department, including effective investigation/root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to ensure efficient production operation and support manufacturing schedule adherence. Compliance with all internal and external regulatory, legislative, and statutory requirements is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provision of technical support to operational areas and engineering personnel to ensure efficient operations and adherence to approved production and project schedules.
  2. Responsible for the DCS and other control systems in operational areas, ensuring system compliance with all site standards and procedures.
  3. Lead proactive problem-solving efforts to resolve process equipment issues and diagnose technical problems.
  4. Responsible for expediting CAPA implementation pertaining to Operations Department raised incidents/deviations.
  5. Manage and support activities to maximize value, such as process optimization, waste reduction/recycling, and energy saving.
  6. Coordinate continuous improvement activities through the application of Lean Six Sigma.
  7. Manage and support technology transfer for new technologies and processes.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards associated with cGMP, ISO 14001, EMAS, Health & Safety Legislation, and Environmental Legislation.
Essential Knowledge & Experience
  1. B.S. in Engineering, Chemical/Biochemical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  2. Proven years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Technical proficiency, including broad understanding of filtration and purification technologies and processes.
  4. Ability to independently progress projects and provide process engineering design, implementation/commissioning services, and maintenance support of cGMP manufacturing.
  5. Experience in leading multi-functional teams and contributing to project teams.
  6. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including Lean Six Sigma proficiency to at least Yellow Belt level.
  7. Experience with control systems (DCS, PLC) is advantageous.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
  1. Direct experience in drug manufacturing.
  2. Experience in a cGMP start-up environment.
