Purpose

Successfully project execution by planning and implementing capital investment projects.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below .

  • Participate in the design, specification & implementation of piping systems for logistics equipment such as pneumatic product conveying, compressed air, process water and cooling systems, etc.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS). The plastic industries initiative to properly contain any pellets, flake or powder from leaving our site.
  • Work with Ravago/Customer stakeholders to develop equipment support platforms such as operator working stations or tiered mezzanines.
  • Plan and coordinate regular meetings with all stakeholders (Customer, Ravago Engineering Team, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Ravago/Customer CAD Specialist to develop project support drawing packages such as PFD’s (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), GA’s (General Arrangement drawings)
  • Collaborate with Ravago/Customer CAD Specialist, general contractors and vendor equipment suppliers for equipment approvals to ensure equipment fit and function.
  • Participate in the equipment receiving, organization, communication and installation of any and all equipment within the Ravago ISBL. (Inside Battery Limits) This activity will also include coordination with Customer engineering/construction onsite management.
  • Maintain financial controls to ensure approved Capex Budgets are not exceeded.
  • Support Special Projects Engineering Manager and Operations Team on high visibility responsibilities including acting as backup when scheduling conflicts occur.
  • Responsible for planning, design and execution for capex projects while meeting the following:
    • Zero safety issues during project planning and implementation.
    • Finished project actual spending at or below approved Capex budget.
    • Positive performance feedback from our customers (external = via Business Manager, and internal = via Plant Manager).
  • Follow all Ravago/Customer Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
  • Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.
  • Develop & maintain the great relationship we have with Customer on all levels of this and projects worldwide.

To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility.   • Preferrable knowledge with the following logistics processes:
  • Pellet and masterbatch material conveying systems.
  • Railcar Loading Systems for Plastic Pellets
  • PLC/Integration Systems for production & communication with Customer Operations Team.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and equipment suppliers as required.
  • Specification package development (mechanical, electrical, etc.) experience required for both equipment manufacturers and installation contractors.
  • Must have experience and demonstrated success for completing large capital projects ($ 1 million +) on ‐ time, on ‐ budget and safely.
  • Lead with a “Sell, Not tell” style and ensure systems are performing using a Management by Walking Around (MBWA) style. Consistently display highest levels of Code of Conduct leadership behavior.
  • Detail oriented, attention to accuracy and ability to multi ‐ task.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of Engineering and Manufacturing design experience.
  • Systems Experience:
  • Preferrable to be proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360 and other software for proper operational design of the Ravago logistics facility.
  • Microsoft suite: Outlook, Excel - Required (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint preferred)

Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience.

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office and in non-climate controlled environments.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
  • Position does require relocation to the Edmonton/Fort Saskatchewan Cities; location is in state of Alberta in Canada. Climate conditions are anywhere between -40C to +40C.

  • Ability to adapt to winter & summer conditions in the region of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.
