Position Summary
Fernie Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Administrative Services Assistant to join their team

When scheduled, the hours for this position will be Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 16:30.

Days off: Sun, Sat, STAT.

Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full-time positions. What Will You Work On?
In this role, you will perform a variety of reception, administrative, and Health Unite Aide support duties including:
  1. Data entry including gathering, organizing, collecting, collating, and verifying information, typing correspondence
  2. Preparing presentations, arranging meetings, transcribing minutes, booking travel, and record management
  3. Scheduling and confirming client appointments as well as receiving, recording, and checking balances of cash transactions
  4. Maintaining and cleaning medical/surgical supplies, equipment, and HCIS resource material
  5. Cleaning, setting up, and dismantling rooms, cleaning/sanitizing toys and equipment
  6. Weighing and measuring babies, calibrating equipment, vision screenings

What should your application include?
  1. A current Typing Test 40 wpm or greater completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution;
  2. An Office Administration Certificate;
  3. A current valid BC Driver’s License;
  4. Your Resume;
  5. A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position.

Qualifications
Education, Training & Experience
  1. Grade 12
  2. Graduation from a recognized Office Administration Certificate Program, Plus
  3. One year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  4. Completion of a Typing Test at 40 wpm dated within the past 48 months and must be issued from a valid institution only. (NON-SUPERVISED TESTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED)
  5. Current valid BC Driver's License
