Role Overview:
As the Director of Platform Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the IT operations and platform engineering strategies of our organization. You will report directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and work closely with peer Directors across various IT domains, including Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Program Management. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage a diverse team, driving the evolution of our IT infrastructure towards a cloud/managed services model.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement platform engineering strategies, focusing on a transition from traditional IT operations to a cloud/managed services environment. The current ratio is approximately 60% hardware and 40% cloud/managed services, with a goal of shifting to 70% cloud/managed services and 30% hardware.
  2. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of managers and individual contributors across various IT functions, including Application Support, DBA Operations, System Operations, DevOps, and Network Operations.
  3. Operational Excellence: Ensure the criticality of IT operations in a 24/7 environment is maintained while introducing innovative solutions to enhance platform stability, performance, and scalability.
  4. Change Management: Drive successful people change management initiatives to support the ongoing evolution of the IT landscape within the organization.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with other Directors to align IT operations with broader business goals and ensure seamless integration across all IT functions.

Industry Experience:
- Preferred candidates will have experience in the financial services industry, particularly with mid-sized banks, credit unions, or insurance companies.

IT Operations Background:
- Extensive experience in IT operations, particularly in a 24/7 environment.
- Deep understanding of platform engineering strategies and the criticality of IT operations.
- Proven experience in managing people change within an IT environment.
