Job Description

CIMA+ is looking for a Senior Project Manager for our Linear Infrastructure group in GTA to work on projects based mainly in the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will lead the design of large complex Linear Water and Wastewater projects, as well as developing and empowering a diverse group of professional staff. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with members of our linear and multi-disciplinary water and wastewater project teams on exciting and engaging infrastructure projects. CIMA+ has a hybrid model, with the expectation to be in the office 1-2 days/week. Mississauga, Kitchener, Burlington, Toronto, Bowmanville offices are all an option.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage projects and project teams through all phases of project planning, design, construction, and commissioning of Major Linear Water and Wastewater projects.
  2. Prepare and/or supervise engineering studies, environmental assessments, reports, calculations, plans, and contract documents for water and wastewater related projects.
  3. Produce cost estimates and construction specifications independently working with project staff.
  4. Communicate directly with Clients without the need for assistance and supervision.
  5. Lead and/or assist in the pursuit of new projects involving request for proposals with clients, including technical writing and proposal development and production.
  6. Build relationships with existing and potential clients in an effort to grow the local water and wastewater practice.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of strategic planning of the Linear Water/Wastewater Group.
  8. Manage project resources, schedule, budget, quality management, and project risk assessment on behalf of CIMA+ to meet client expectations individually and independently.
  9. Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, project stakeholders, and contractors.
  10. Lead and mentor intermediate and junior staff on fundamentals of detail design of linear work and general project management skills.
  11. Training and development of junior staff is critical in this role.
  12. Work on projects in remote locations from Mississauga Office (no relocation required) and assist other offices across Canada in delivering large Linear Water and Wastewater projects.
  13. Ability to break projects down into tasks and sequences to ensure project delivery within established scope, schedule, and budget.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institute.
  2. Professional Engineer registered with PEO (or eligible to transfer registration to PEO).
  3. Minimum 12 years of experience working on Linear Water/Wastewater projects.
  4. Proven experience delivering projects in value of 2.5 million and up.
  5. Experience with tunneling and/or rehabilitation works considered an asset.
  6. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
  7. Ability to use and coordinate virtual meeting software and lead virtual meetings and workshops.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication of project plans and presentations.
