Key responsibilities:

  1. Direct line management responsibilities for accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, including authorisation of payment runs and analysis of cash flows and supervision of credit control.
  2. Manage relationships and control over key banking processes including credit card and cash expenditure, as well as key customer payment facilities.
  3. Review, create and implement policies, procedures and controls to ensure consistency, accuracy and reliability of reporting.
  4. Ensure all reporting and close process deadlines are met and all submissions are complete, accurate and timely.
  5. Production and development of monthly management accounts and year end audit packs for holding company and property divisions.
  6. Assist with group tax matters including corporation tax analysis, quarterly VAT reporting, employment taxes and customs procedures.
  7. Support annual retendering of contracts including utilities, insurance and other group purchasing contracts.
  8. Produce or oversee production of key balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.

The Right Person Will:

  1. Be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
  2. Have experience in a multi-site or multi-company accounting environment and of supervising a small or medium sized accounting team.
  3. Have drive, ambition and excellent leadership skills.
  4. Be able to demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen, along with knowledge of transactional accounting processes and shared service centre operations in environments with high transaction volumes and diverse income streams.
  5. Have the ability to analyse and identify improvements to key accounting processes and controls to maximise efficiency and security.
  6. Have excellent written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  7. Have a proactive management style that reinforces the corporate values.
