We are looking for a clinically experienced RN with a passion for learning and teaching to join our dynamic Rural Clinical Nurse Educator Team. The successful candidate will provide education support to clinical staff in Area 3 of AHS' North Zone. Location is flexible, ideally in Area 3 geography (Beaverlodge, Spirit River, Grande Cache, Valleyview, Fox Creek, Hythe) including Grande Prairie. Travel will be expected. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Experience or training in the delivery of adult education is preferred, as is Connect Care experience. Strong, current acute care and ER skills with related course certifications such as ACLS, TNCC and ENPC preferred.
