The Role

We are looking for a business-minded senior strategist who can help our clients achieve their marketing and business goals. The right candidate will have proven and extensive experience in advertising roles. They can build comprehensive customer journeys, interpret research and data to provide insights and recommendations, and are a compelling storyteller able to hold their own with senior clients. They will be someone who knows the importance of building audience-centric, integrated campaigns that show up across channels, and invite customers to interact, or transact, more deeply with brands at scale.

Responsibilities:

• To understand client businesses on a meaningful level to develop sound strategic insights in service of client business objectives.

• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and through the organization as a trusted strategic guide.

• Comfortable leveraging social listening tools to gain insights and make recommendations.

• Lead strategic thinking on multiple projects in accordance with deadlines.

• Author compelling strategic narrative – and are prepared and comfortable in defending your position.

• Drive the creative brief writing process.

• Explore and synthesize multiple sources of research and data to uncover insights, solutions, and recommendations for clients.

• Develop a broad range of strategic planning documents based on the situation including for example: strategic narratives, creative briefs, engaging presentation decks, comms hierarchy.

• Keeping pulse on cultural/ industry /retail trends: Create trend reports and thought leadership presentations as needed.

• Create consumer connection profiles/maps that provide insight into consumer behaviours and relationships with relevant media, channels, and non-traditional connection points.

• Inform and inspire the creative process, working closely with and earning the trust of our creative teams.

• Be a positive force within the agency.

• Know how to work closely with research partners to guide exploration and turn outputs into actionable strategies

Skills and experience:

• 5 - 7 years of experience in strategy-related agency roles.

• B2B experience is a big plus

• Proven ability to take complex concepts or information and translate into a simple, and insightful creative brief that inspires great work.

• Exceptional writer and presenter. You’re someone who can express their ideas well, can think on the fly, can be influential in getting to a goal - buying a good creative idea backed by strategy.

• Adept at translating research results into actionable observations and learning.

• Experience guiding go-to-market strategies and channel planning.

• Proven ability to think in ‘integrated’, not just great at executions, but great experiences across an ecosystem.

• Strong storytelling and presentation skills.

• Intellectual curiosity, paired with an affinity and aptitude for creative problem solving.

• A strategic mindset, with the ability to “connect the dots” from observations to opportunities.

• Development and delivery of compelling presentations

• A true team player with proven success collaborating with Creative & Account Management teams to enable impactful creative that delivers on client objectives.
