Job Description

Manulife US Real Estate Investment Trust (Manulife US REIT) is a Singapore REIT listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (the SGX-ST) since 20 May 2016. We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to support the Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring compliance with MAS and SGX licensing and regulatory requirements as well as compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle licensing and registration matters
  • Assist with periodic updates of compliance manuals
  • Monitor regulatory developments
  • Provide timely escalation of issues to Chief Compliance Officer on all compliance related matters
  • Assist with regulatory, statutory and internal/group reporting requirements
  • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive and robust compliance program
  • Assist with SGXNet announcements, circulars, annual reports, sustainability reports and other necessary public disclosures/filings
  • Liaise with internal/external auditors, trustee and regulators on compliance, listing and licensing requirements
  • Coordinate and conduct training from a regulatory and compliance perspective
  • Liaise with internal/external legal counsel for compliance and legal matters where necessary
  • Assist with corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters where required
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned from time to time

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Tertiary qualification
  • Sound knowledge of REIT/financial services industry
  • Preferably 3-5 years of experience in regulatory, compliance, internal audit or external audit in the financial services or property-related industry
  • Good command in English, verbally and written
  • Meticulous, articulate and ability to work independently
  • Good attitude with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
