Ideal candidates will have a university degree in Environmental Restoration, Geography, Environmental Science, Forestry, Biology, or related degree with a technical environmental diploma. Ideal candidates will also have relevant work experience in the field of environmental inventory and assessment.


POSITION

You will work independently and as part of multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of projects for both industry, and government clientele. You may be assisting ENKON staff in preparing environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring reports, environmental management and restoration plans, tree assessment and management plans, erosion and sediment control plans and instream work permit applications, monitoring, and reporting. Your role may require you to: plan field assessments; collect biophysical data in the field independently or as an assistant; analyze field data in ArcGIS or otherwise, prepare figures in ArcGIS and prepare reports and recommendations. You may also be required to monitor construction activity for environmental impacts. The majority of your work will be in the Lower Mainland region.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Environmental Restoration, Environmental Science, Geography, Forestry, Biology, or related degree combined with a technical environmental diploma.
  • Experience with Provincial and Local Government environmental legislation and policy pertinent to land development and environmental protection.
  • Experience and affinity for working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Experience collecting geographic information in the field.
  • Technical report writing experience.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills (in English).
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Must have a driver’s license and vehicle for transport to field locations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a BIT, R.P.Bio., P.Ag., RPF, and/or BC-CESCL.
  • Experience in watercourse assessment and classification (e.g. Fish Potential Assessment, Riparian Areas Protection Regulation Detailed Assessment).
  • Experience monitoring construction activity for aquatic impacts (e.g. erosion and sediment control monitoring, water quality monitoring).
  • Experience performing analysis and preparing figures in ArcGIS.
  • Experience undertaking wildlife assessments in the Metro Vancouver region.
  • Ability to identify common native trees and shrubs.
  • Ability to assess tree health and condition.
