Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their growing team. With decades of experience and innovation in high-performance equipment design and manufacturing, the company is focused on delivering customized, process-driven solutions to clients across various industries.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hands-on, technical role supporting the installation, commissioning, and service of advanced machinery at client sites across North America and internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on custom-built equipment both in-house and at customer sites.
  • Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Participate in machine commissioning, start-ups, and customer support activities.
  • Assist in the mechanical/electrical assembly and debugging of equipment at the company's facility prior to shipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customer personnel during installation and operation.
  • Ensure compliance with both customer and company safety standards.
  • Communicate recommended machine improvements and parts replacements based on observations during service visits.
  • Provide over-the-phone technical support as needed.
  • Document service work including reports, expenses, and technical updates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including Engineering and Project Management, to ensure project goals are met.
  • Support training activities and help prepare related documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a mechanical and/or electrical field. A Millwright license is an asset.
  • Prior experience in a Field Service Technician or similar technical service role preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with PLCs and control systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB) is a strong asset.
  • Ability to read and work from detailed technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-directed work ethic.
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 65–70%), including internationally.
  • Valid passport and driver's license required.
