The A&A group at SB Partners LLP is expanding. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and service-oriented Senior Accounting Associate to join our team.

Purpose of the position:

As a Senior Accounting Associate, you will manage larger and more complex engagements and continue to advance your technical knowledge. You will continue to have increased exposure within the firm and externally through elevated client interactions. The role will involve developing and maintaining outstanding client relationships, ensuring the “Ultimate Client Experience” is provided, and showcasing your leadership qualities through the mentoring, coaching, and training of co-ops and junior team members.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Prepare compilation engagements, which includes preparing working paper files and corporate income tax returns in adherence with the firm’s formal policies and procedures
  • Prepare and file HST returns
  • Research accounting issues in accordance with ASPE and make recommendations on proposed accounting treatment
  • Communicate with clients, team members, and Managers
  • Correspond with the Canada Revenue Agency relating to corporate tax inquiries
  • Manage competing deadlines for multiple partners and managers while providing quality service to clients
What you offer:
  • Pursuing or has CPA Designation or 5+ years accounting experience in a Public Accounting firm
  • University or College graduate with an accounting or finance background
  • Minimum one year at a Senior level OR two years at the Intermediate level of public accounting experience for a variety of industries, preferably in a small to mid-sized firm
  • Strong client service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self motivated, results driven
  • Willingness to be coached and mentored
  • Experience using CaseWare and TaxPrep software
  • Experience using QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Simply Accounting
  • Experience using Excel
  • Demonstrate ability to use Document Management Tools
  • Has transportation available as some travel may be required.
