Experienced ESG Specialist/Internal Auditor with a strong background in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) auditing to join our team on a 12–14 month contract. This role will focus on governance, compliance, and sustainability audits within the mining or energy sector. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ISO 14001, ESG reporting, and risk assessment related to environmental and corporate governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits focused on ESG, environmental compliance, and corporate governance.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 and other relevant environmental and sustainability standards.
- Assess ESG risks and compliance within corporate policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Perform risk-based audits in mining, energy, and sustainability-related operations.
- Develop and enhance ESG reporting frameworks in line with industry best practices.
- Provide recommendations to improve sustainability practices, risk management, and governance structures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance audit procedures and ensure compliance with environmental and governance regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in internal auditing within the mining or energy Sector
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, Sustainability , ISO 14001, and environmental risk assessments.
- Proficiency in ESG reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
- CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and governance processes.
