We are currently looking to fill a permanent full-time position for an Assistant Commodity Manager for our Commodities department at our Leamington, ON location.


Reporting to the Senior Commodity Manager, the Assistant Commodity Manager assists the Commodity Manager Team by communicating, planning, and coordinating various tasks.


Job Specific Duties

  • Review inbound purchase orders, flagging those not meeting our quality standards, for further assessment
  • Assist in the creation and review of Mexican and Canadian packing plans daily/weekly
  • Manage bulk inventory across locations daily. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Transfers to and from distribution centers
  • Review sales order DC placement and adjust as needed
  • Maintaining acceptable inventory levels at these locations
  • Communicating daily with the respective employees
  • Escalating quality concerns to the Commodity Manager
  • Visit local growers on an as-needed basis for new pack set-ups, quality concerns, viewing crops, etc.
  • Act as interim Commodity Manager for all absence coverage
  • Review Grower forecasts for accuracy and completion
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Commodity Coordinator/Allocation experience is required; 2+ years preferred.
  • Experience working with Excel and MS Dynamics Nav (or other ERP systems) considered an asset.
  • Ability to maintain respectful relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent communication is a must for this role (oral and written).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment, some independent work.
  • Ability to work in a fast environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details and quality.
  • Ability to embrace and adapt to the rapid growth, innovation, and development of the company.
  • A valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle are required.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and extended hours if needed.


Working Conditions

  • Mainly office setting with some warehouse/greenhouse as needed
  • Working with minimal supervision during the day, but also communicating with different individuals and teams across our facilities and from external organizations.
  • Full time hours Monday to Friday with Saturdays and holidays (as needed).
