About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, The Radiological Technologist is responsible for the delivery of patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision while exercising independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care. The Radiological Technologist is responsible for effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment while fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. Travel to other sites may be required.
About You
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Previous experience is an asset
- Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
- Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
- Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
- Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Long assignment part-time position; 37.5 hours biweekly
- Approximately 12 months
- Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends
Compensation and Benefits
$30.83 - $37.54 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
