The Volunteer’s Role

If you are passionate about helping organizations in institutional capacity development and enhancing organizational contributions for national poverty reduction efforts of the government and climate action, this is the role for you.

As a Business Development and Knowledge Management Advisor, you'll be working with Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) along with their team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this role, you will support GGGI Ethiopia country office in the areas of business development, knowledge management, communication, and project/program report writing, as well as provide training for related project staff to enhance the organization capacity through developing internal and external communication strategic documents and transferring skilled knowledge to the team.

As a volunteer, you will:
  1. Document lessons learned, results from past and ongoing projects and use the same to identify funding opportunities across a variety of sectors and donors landscape, supporting the country team in proposal development.
  2. Support the development of project reports using lessons learned from green growth projects being implemented by the country office and its implementing partners.
  3. Develop knowledge management strategies, products, and methodologies on climate action for GGGI Ethiopia country office.
  4. Support quality control and brand management of country office communications and publications.
  5. Design appropriate communication strategies to enhance the visibility of GGGI Ethiopia.
  6. Conduct training for project managers and technical teams on communication, knowledge product development, and knowledge management.
Essential Requirements:

Master’s degree in business management, international relations, development economics, international development, knowledge management, and related field of study.

Essential Background:
  1. A minimum of seven years of practical experience in an international development organization in business development and knowledge management.
  2. Strong experience developing funding proposals.
  3. Strong experience in collaborating with international development organizations and donors.
  4. Experience in building effective partnerships.
  5. Experience in knowledge sharing and capacity development.
  6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  7. Knowledge management and knowledge product development experience.

This partnership contributes to GGGI Ethiopia's efforts to effectively support the government of Ethiopia in transitioning to low carbon economic development by designing and implementing high-impact green growth projects.
