We are experiencing exponential growth in our presence in Canada. In 1998, it was awarded for the construction, operation, and maintenance project for the Fredericton-Moncton Highway. In 2011, it was awarded a section of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway extension, the first modern subway infrastructure project in the city. This project was completed in 2018.


FCC Construcción Canadá has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line, together with the GO Rail Expansion-On Corridor Project and the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail and Systems Project reinforces FCC Construcción’s presence in the Canadian market.


Project Opportunity


We are looking for an experienced Environmental Quality Manager to join our FCC Canada team assigned to the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations Project.


This position is located in Toronto, ON.


POSITION SUMMARY


Reports to: Quality Director


The Environmental Quality Manager shall be responsible to audit the requirements Environmental Obligations. The Environmental Quality Manager ensures the project meets its environmental goals and addresses any non-conformances in these areas.


  • Report directly to the Quality Director, and shall be independent of the design, construction production and supervision staff.
  • Shall be responsible for following the Quality Management Plans
  • Shall be responsible for supporting quality control and quality assurance awareness and implementation and review Procedure as well as the close-out of Non-Conformance Reports for Environmental areas.
  • Implement environmental quality management systems and procedures in collaboration with the Quality Manager responsible for the Environmental Quality Management Plan
  • Responsible to audit the requirements of Schedule 17 – Environmental Obligations


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in a senior management position on major projects such as light rail transit construction in urban and undeveloped areas
  • Shall be certified as quality professionals from certifying bodies, as a minimum successful completion of an ISO 9001 2015 Lead Auditor Training Course.
  • Strong background and experience in the field of environmental management and/ or planning and infrastructure projects of similar size, complexity, and contractual value to this Project.
  • 10+ years of combined education and experience in the delivery/management of an environmental compliance program/quality program
  • Demonstrated experience submitting applications and operating under relevant federal and provincial permits
  • Background in developing, monitoring and auditing environmental practices and performance
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices
  • Knowledge of construction site erosion and sedimentation controls and BMP’s
