The Opportunity:


ML6 is pleased to be partnering with a leading Canadian consumer goods manufacturer in their search for a Controller. As the Controller, you will be responsible maintaining a seamless financial ecosystem for the whole facility, ensuring precision and efficiency. You will spearhead the budgeting process, manage day-to-day finances, and provide crucial financial insights to management.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Crafting the annual manufacturing budget and generating reports to compare actual costs with set standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and nurturing your own team
  • Conducting in-depth analyses of income statements and variances
  • Serving as a financial consultant to our management
  • Ensuring adherence to financial protocols and legal requirements
  • Offering statistical and financial guidance to leadership
  • Supervising accounting operations, including payroll and accounts payable
  • Overseeing monthly financial closures and generating manufacturing cost reports
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting standards
  • Monitoring brand cost allocations and participating in capital projects



What You'll Need to Be Successful:


  • 8-10 years of relevant accounting and business experience, including senior finance or controller roles
  • Direct exposure to manufacturing environments and solid grasp of plant operations and cost accounting
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business/Commerce; certification such as CPA or CMA is advantageous
  • Proficiency in various computer applications including Microsoft Office, SAP, and accounting systems
  • Some auditing experience and familiarity with internal controls
  • Strong interpersonal skills to navigate sensitive situations
  • Exceptional analytical prowess and the ability to provide strategic recommendations
  • Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and a history of achieving objectives
  • Key competencies in integrity, partnership building, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer focus
