AFG is currently searching for a Senior Director of Technology and Infrastructure who will be responsible for leading the organization’s IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring the secure, scalable, and efficient operation of all technology systems and services. This individual will oversee a team of IT professionals, collaborate with senior leadership to align technology strategies with business objectives, and manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of critical technology systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system integration, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies such as IoT, ERP, MES, and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a technology and infrastructure strategy in alignment with organizational goals through collaboration with senior leadership
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and integrations, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of IT infrastructure trends to maximize security, stability and efficiency
  • Communicate the status, challenges, and achievements of IT initiatives to executive stakeholders and the broader organization.

Infrastructure Management and Technology Integration:

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including computing equipment, cloud environments, networks, servers, and storage systems to support business growth and scalability
  • Manage disaster recovery planning, including backup and business continuity strategies.
  • Maintain an integrated platform for data sharing between hardware (machinery, sensors) and software systems (ERP, supply chain management, inventory control) to provide a comprehensive view of manufacturing operations.


Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, providing guidance on best practices, professional growth, and performance management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related issues, driving swift result-oriented action.


Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor preferred), networking, storage, virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices.

- Proven track record of leading IT teams and managing large-scale IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements related to IT infrastructure.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.

- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.

- Familiarity with integration protocols and database management systems for real-time data communication.
