Reuters is looking to hire a Digital News Producer for the social-media team to help lead coverage on our many various platforms. You will work with video, graphics, images and text gathered by our global news teams to produce native experiences to share our world-class journalism across platforms. This producer must have excellent writing and video-editing skills, and experience creating multimedia content.

You should be an avid consumer — and have a clear understanding of — digital and social media, including insight into upcoming trends and platforms. The role demands fluency in news, social media and analytics.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. Good editorial judgment, team collaboration and a passion for news are critical.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Digital News Producer, you will:

  • Plan, manage and execute engaging social media strategies, assets and language for breaking-news stories
  • Ability to multitask, balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Be proficient in analytics tools and able to use the data to drive decisions
  • A clear understanding of the different audiences and styles of digital and social platforms
  • Edit video content in Adobe Premiere
  • Have a keen eye for visual storytelling
  • Ensure your work is accurate, timely and impartial
  • Develop, prepare and execute editorial duties for special report campaigns that promote enterprise news and graphics, investigatory and explanatory reporting
  • Day-to-day editorial management of all Reuters social media platforms including LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, X, Instagram, WhatApp and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels during time zone
  • Monitor news wire for breaking-news snaps and story updates
  • Ensure breaking news cards, snaps and stories are sent quickly and accurately
  • Recommend improvements and strategies to increase performance and set targets to increase engagement and encourage collaboration across teams and departments
  • Oversee, deliver and double-check content across different platforms - ensure posts and stories are accurate and any corrections are executed openly and swiftly
  • Ensure live feeds are posted and monitored across multiple platforms
  • Track, analyze and report on performance on social media platforms using on-platform tools, Chartbeat, Rival IQ, Google/YouTube Analytics
  • Manage day-to-day social media platforms including LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, X, Instagram, WhatsApp and YouTube
