Introduction

We are seeking a Retail Territory Manager for our client who is a global agriculture company focused on developing seeds, crop protection products, and digital agriculture solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for sales and implementing business plans to promote growth. This role will cover central Manitoba and will require driving daily, potentially up to 400 km per day. This is a one-year contract available immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Retail Territory Managers are responsible for sales, market share and business support of Agriscience products to our retailer customers.
  • Retail Territory Managers are responsible for driving growth and profitability within the customer's overall business.
  • As part of the Agriscience Sales Team, promote new technologies and future crop protection and seed pipeline through selected retail business partners.
  • Establish sound business relationships by consistently delivering professional, quality service.
  • Responsible for achieving sales targets and effectively managing budgets and resources.
  • Responsible for working with selected retails to develop business plans that support the overall growth of the retail business.
  • Identify and understand problems and opportunities and use effective approaches for developing solutions to increase customer's willingness to recommend products.
  • Develop and implement business plans with the retail accounts that drive growth and profitability.
  • Work with customers to identify market opportunities and implement tactics to create demand at retail outlets.
  • Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of retail programs.
  • Participate in product demand planning and forecasting processes.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of products, logistics, ordering patterns and volumes to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Be alert to regulatory and environmental issues and provide proper attention to product stewardship.

Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, in Agronomy, Business, or Marketing required. Will consider other degrees with related field sales experience.
  • Three to five (3-5) years sales experience, managing and/or coaching individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional approach to building customer relationships.
  • Strong value selling, planning, strategy, and negotiation skills required.
  • Can establish priorities to effectively manage responsibilities and workload.
  • Knowledge of crop protection and seed business is required.
  • Ability to analyze sales and market share data to identify market opportunities and identify potential solutions.
  • Understanding of basic business planning and financial skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment.
  • Self-starter, energetic, positive thinker/attitude.
  • Strong planning, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to pass a driving record background check.
