The Coordinator, People & Culture and Safety is responsible to support the overall development, coordination, evaluation and continuous improvement of people & culture (P&C) and safety programs. This dual-role position requires a dedicated individual who can efficiently manage P&C duties while ensuring the company’s safety protocols are effectively implemented and maintained. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience in both areas with a strong commitment to promoting a safe and engaging workplace.


RESPONSIBILITIES

P&C Coordinator

• Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, preparing onboarding material and performing new hire orientations

• Maintain accurate employee records and relevant documentation

• Assist with P&C reporting and overall performance metrics

• Coordinate and support employee training programs, including learning & development and compliance training

• Promote P&C initiatives and manage intranet


Safety Coordinator

• Develop, prepare, implement, and monitor safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees

• Ensure compliance with OHS, client requirements and other relevant safety regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards

• Tracking and maintaining incidents log and safety statistics

• Assist with facilitating internal/external safety training

• Assist with preparing safety meetings and presentations


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or related
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an administrative role, preferably having supported human resources and/or health, safety and environment
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with HR practices, including recruitment and knowledge of employment standards and Human Rights Legislation
  • Experience with safety compliance, OHS regulations, and conducting safety audits
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
