Overview

The Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmacy services to customers and medical practitioners. The Pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient focused care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and PROfile programs. The Pharmacist will also provide guidance and supervision to Pharmacy students and Pharmacy Assistants and will ensure that all patients are offered and receive professional clinical services. Actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement.


Job DescriptionPatient Focused Care
  1. Focus is on clinical services (i.e; disease state management, medication reviews, health risk assessments)
  2. Prescription safety prioritizing technical functions to Pharmacy Assistants when available.
  3. Initiate care plans, follow up, and document
  4. Collect relevant patient, drug and disease information
  5. Identification of actual and potential drug related problems
  6. Monitor medication adherence
  7. Provide patient counselling for new therapy and determine patients understanding as to why they are taking the medication.
  8. Tailor counselling to the needs and concerns of the patient i.e. literacy, hearing loss, privacy, etc.
Customer Service
  1. Acknowledge customers promptly and professionally
  2. Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion towards the customer
  3. Provide superior customer service to every customer
Other
  1. Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
  2. Other duties as required
Job RequirementsTechnical Skills:
  1. Above average communication skills (both oral and written)
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  3. Self-directed and able to work independently to meet strict deadlines
  4. Ability to be a team player in a fast paced environment
Education And Experience
  1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  2. Must be a Licensed Pharmacist in the province of responsibility
  3. Injection Certification
  4. Previous experience in a retail and/or retail pharmacy setting preferred

The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $55.00 - $62.90. We will consider factors such as your working location, work experience and skills as well as internal equity, and market conditions to ensure that you are paid fairly and competitively.
