JOB PURPOSE:

To provide manufacturing, commissioning, investigation, maintenance and repair support for the MEL Group range of products. This will include tasks at MEL and customer locations both in the UK and Worldwide.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To build, test and release company manufactured ground support equipment to approved standards.
  • Confidence and ability to travel to customer sites and provide fault finding and repair services.
  • Carry out commissioning of MEL Group equipment as required at customer locations.
  • Able to provide training for the Operation & Maintenance of MEL equipment at customer sites both in the UK & abroad.
  • Liaise with Designers to ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings regarding design and production equipment.
  • Communicate closely with the Production Coordinator regarding all project work and related matters.
  • Liaise with the Buying department to confirm quantities of supplies ordered and to progress orders.
  • Resolve queries and problems to the best of ability before escalating up to the next level. Act as a ‘trouble-shooter’ to minimise errors and provide workable solutions.
  • Assist with other projects/duties as determined by the Production Department.
  • Responsible for adhering to health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Conduct assigned tasks in a controlled and safe manner, paying particular respect to colleagues and equipment.
  • Present a positive attitude at all times, with a resilient, adaptable approach to problems.

PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

  • Possess good mechanical fitting experience.
  • Qualified Electrician a bonus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Numerical and literacy skills.
  • Reliability, trustworthy.
  • Flexible attitude and approach.
  • Professional conduct displayed at all times.
  • Able-bodied (able to lift safe loads without assistance).
  • Record of technical competence within the Company or from previous experience.
  • Advanced mechanical/engineering knowledge.
  • Positive attitude combined with a ‘common sense’ approach.
  • Ability to work well within a team, and unsupervised.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and worldwide.

SALARY:

  • Dependent on skills, experience and aptitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
