The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must be Fluently bilingual (business language spoken and written) in French and English
  • Must have PMP designation
  • Should have P. Eng
  • Managing switching build and legacy equipment migrations from DMS10/100 to C20/ G9/ G6 and decommissioning while minimizing impacts to customers
  • Managing hardware and software upgrades across switching technologies (C20/ G9/ G6)
  • Managing build and implementation of Traffic Operator Position System (TOPS) replacement
  • Should have experience managing large CRTC mandatory projects
  • Should have experience managing large build, migrations and decommissioning working with DMS and C20 technologies
  • Should have experience managing hardware and software upgrades across switching network components
  • Should have experience working with external hardware and software vendors for the voice network (i.e. Ribbon, Juniper, etc)
  • Should have extensive experience in decommissioning of legacy switching equipment
  • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on program performance through the use of team meetings, project meetings, status reports and time reporting
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure Project Management (PM) standards, processes, principles and strategies are carried out for all projects and completes audits of projects to ensure compliance.
  • Accountable to executive sponsors for schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements.
  • Leads high-level sessions for program plan and schedule development.
  • Reviews/approves project plans for conformance to program strategy and program plan and schedule.
  • Acts as the communications channel to executive sponsors and program steering committee and conducts periodic briefings/status updates.
  • Escalates decisions to executive sponsors as necessary
  • Defines and builds the appropriate reporting & Project Management Organization (PMO) structures to support project requirements plus linkage to the overall business project
  • Communicates effectively to team members on project status
  • Works with the various project teams to identify opportunities for acceleration of work within the respective streams as well as optimization of resources
  • Identifies cost reduction opportunities
  • Provides input in long term Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN) strategy
