This includes assessing client needs, developing technical content for work packages and proposals, working across organizations to estimate engineering costs, and generally harvesting additional value from performing contracts as part of CAE’s strategy to sustain its leadership as Canada’s foremost training and military operational support company. The role requires sound business development sense, technical knowledge, good written and verbal communication skills, and the enthusiasm and dynamism to take opportunities from the point of identification through review and approval cycles and into proposal and execution. Does this sound like you? That’s why we need your expertise and passion to complete our team

  4. Foster and develop a network of key CAE colleagues from global product and solution groups upon which to draw to stand up, coordinate, and lead Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to capture targeted sales.
  5. Meet clients, understand their requirements, and present innovative value propositions.
  6. Draw upon your experience with industry-standard sales methodologies to identify and close on specific sales targets, set and meet annual sales objectives, and increase sales revenue from existing contracts.
  7. Develop, document, and implement an IPT-specific sales strategy within D&S Canada.
  8. Report on sales engineering activity, priorities, and issues to the Senior Management.
  9. Provide inputs to internal R&D activity and advice on matching customer needs with company technology.
  10. Provide inputs to Product Line roadmaps and Technology roadmaps to ensure CAE is firmly focused on the future.
  11. Support specific sales campaigns with technical and process knowledge.
  12. Maintain customer information in SalesForce.
  13. Work with BD personnel to gather information about market needs, pro-actively follow up with customers on-site, and become a trusted partner to your clients.

The ideal candidate has:

  2. 5 - 8 years of related experience.
  3. Experience working with SalesForce or similar customer relationship management systems.
  4. Strong marketing and selling skills; experience negotiating and basic contractual and financial knowledge.
  5. Experience in sales in industries with long selling cycles.
  6. Experience in the proposal and bid process, with the ability to independently set and work to deadlines.
  7. Ability and desire to travel within Canada on a regular (up to 50%) basis.
  8. Fluency in English is required; bilingualism in French is an asset.
