Payroll Specialist
Our client is a fast-paced Southside bookkeeping organization that has been in business for 27 years. They provide payroll services for many companies, with employees ranging from 1 to 50. If you love payroll we would love to hear form you.
Qualifications & Experience:
3 -5 years comprehensive full cycle Canadian payroll.
Current Canadian Payroll Association certification (PCP or CPM) or equivalent work experience.
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50
Familiarity in Sage 300, Zero, and Sap is considered an asset
Advanced experience in filing T'4s, T4A's, and WCB filings
Working knowledge of source deductions and filing the same
Experience with complex payroll environments.
Efficient with Excel, have data processing skills, and can effectively deal with confidential information
Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and coordinate efficiently with various resources.
A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and ability to uphold confidentiality and work with sensitive job and pay-related information.
Ability to work on multiple payrolls in a very fast-paced environment, and work effectively toward tight deadlines
Must be able to work off hours on occasion (evening, weekend, holiday) due to payroll deadlines or if there are challenges submitting payroll
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What You Will Be Working On
Ensure accurate and timely full-cycle payroll processing.
Maintain expert knowledge of payroll system and prevailing payroll/legislative practices.
Administer and process bi-weekly, full cycle, hourly, and salary payroll.
Ability to manage large volume, small headcount payrolls simultaneously
Identify errors and provide solutions/recommendations as required.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, leave of absence, and pay rate changes.
Reconcile payroll accounts and assist in year-end activities, including preparation of T4s, T4As, and other regulatory filings.
Reconcile source deductions, benefits, and WCB.
Prepare various month-end reports.
Prepare Records of Employment (ROE) using ROE Web.
