The Opportunity:

Our Client is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist, responsible for leading all strategic sourcing, procurement, and inventory optimization processes for the business. This role will cover a broad scope of indirect and direct materials for the operation as well as sourcing new materials working closely with Customers, Operations and Product Development.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Negotiate purchase agreements for all bulk orders, commodities, and raw materials, packaging and direct spend.
  • Conduct marketplace analysis to identify purchasing opportunities and alternatives
  • Source and approve new suppliers and vendors
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize purchasing performance and working capital
  • Establish strong relationship with vendors to develop profitable business opportunities;
  • Work cross functionally with all departments including; Finance / Logistics / Operations and Quality to understand requirements and to ensure procurement strategy is well aligned to common goals
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to drive vision / direction for procurement / buying in the organization.
  • Build and track reports for key metrics and Key Performance Indicators
  • Utilize technology to work within multiple systems and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Collaborate with other members of the team as well as colleagues in Production to facilitate any changes that will be required.


Ideal Qualifications & Competencies:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Procurement or Purchasing, Supply Chain and Project Management experience is an asset.
  • 2-3+ years’ experience working with Ingredients, Packaging, Food industry is ideal.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Team player with leadership skills who can make independent decisions.
