Your Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Specialist, Algorithm Engineering, to join our BDO Canada team and own the following responsibilities:

  1. Research mathematical theories, algorithms, and techniques relevant to AI such as probability, statistics, multivariate calculus, linear algebra, graph theory, etc.
  2. Design novel neural network architectures, loss functions, and algorithms to improve AI model performance and efficiency.
  3. Develop reinforcement learning, evolutionary computation, and nature-inspired algorithms for optimal decision-making.
  4. Create algorithms for AI tasks like NLP, prediction, and optimization.
  5. Implement solutions, rigorously test outputs, benchmark against state-of-the-art, and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Publish papers detailing mathematical foundations and properties of your novel algorithms.
  7. Continuously expand your AI and math knowledge to deliver cutting-edge algorithmic solutions.

Your education and experience:

Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
3+ years’ experience developing algorithms for AI/ML applications.
Expertise in AI math topics like probabilistic graphical models, information theory, heuristic search.
Strong grasp of software engineering, data structures, and algorithms.
Proficiency in languages like Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++, Java.
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
Strong passion for mathematics and artificial intelligence.
Ability to learn complex new mathematical techniques quickly.
